You make important points Nathan but you completely elide the political reasons for criminalising abortion. To suggest this has anything to do with the sacred is disingenuous. Abortion bans are in Republican controlled States. These are Christian (sic) fundamentalist States and Right-Wing that are only concerned about maintaining white supremacy from the (spurious ) threat of The Great Replacement. They are using the 'sacred' to cover a political and social programme that completely controls the lives of women. Period.
