Unless that hand that is giving out such benificence is simultaneously slapping the face of a very large tiger. Having aircraft carriers and nuclear submarines in the Indo-Pacific to protect trade routes (very disingenuous) reminds me of the colonialism of the British Empire. But in the 19th century they were — thankfully — without nukes or any battlefield nuclearweapons. The American Empire — all Empires — needs an enemy to justify its exceptionalism and existence. China is now the chosen enemy. God help us.
