A Dark Tale
On Sunday 10th April 2022 I was refused delivery by the Amazon driver because I had no photo identification. I live in England and as I explained
- I have no photo ID
- Photo ID in England is not a statutory requirement for proof of age when buying alcohol at my age
- Photo ID is not a statutory requirement for proof of ID. A Birth Certificate will usually suffice if a photo ID (Passport or Driving Licence is not available) along with proof of address.
I tried my best to explain all this to the driver who would not listen and kept stating photo ID was required. I offered up my Birth Certificate. Completely ignored my attempts to solve the issue. And now being challenged about the legality of photo ID bolted like a bat out of hell from my abode. Then the lies began. The easiest way to undermine a serious complaint is to lie and smear the complainant. I have been here before. And yet I really did not expect Amazon to go that far.
After a phone call to Amazon and then a promised call on Monday which never happened I receive an email from Penny Wilson of Customer Liason (sic) who is the person dealing with my complaint of non-delivery. I was informed in a subsequent email that I had intimidated…
