What is even more interesting is that you elide any reference to the issues that could arise from the portrayal of Lennie. That if anything could be viewed as just as "offensive".
But how many disabled people mentally and physically are in the classroom?
I have to say that your last paragraph has offended me personally.
As the father of 3 mixed race children now adults the insinuation that I would ever allow them to be subject to racism is truly disturbing. But Of Mice And Men is a great work whose themes are still universally relevant.
