I do not have a smartphone. I had one very briefly to see what all the fuss was about. But everything I already had — my laptop and iPad — was catering perfectly to my electronic needs and social media obligations and requirements.

I do not need a better camera with 4 trillion zillion pixels and all the extra crazy time gadgetry that comes along with it to make everything more ‘real’ or less ‘real’ or slowed down to snail time or speeded up for ‘Road Runner’ hilarity and high-speed jinks.

I have no need whatsoever.

I write. I play Apex Legends. I read and I watch films and TV shows. I have a TV and X Box and I regularly purchase those rectangular things with printed words inside. Yes. You remember — books.
