‘Herd Immunity’: A ‘Cure’ Worse Than The Disease?

There is a sense already that we are now entering a phase of, at the very least culture shock and at the very worst a systemic social change particularly in first world countries. The COVID-19 pandemic has already caused many deaths in China and this will now only increase as the virus spreads into the whole world. This will only be stabilised when the numbers being infected have been limited by various strategies. ‘Herd Immunity’ is not one of them. The W.H.O. have thoroughly explained the necessary protocols to adopt and they must be adhered to by all. Not once has ‘Herd Immunity’ been suggested by the W.H.O.

It seems that Donald Trump has finally ‘seen the light’ yet Boris Johnson is (as I write today) reticent to drop his strategy to combat the Pandemic through ‘Herd Immunity’. He has adopted this strategy because of the advice given to him by his scientific advisors. This plan would mean that according to his scientific advisors 60% of the population would need to contract the virus, which is 40 million people. Although health experts have stated that 90% or more of the population need antibodies before herd immunity is reached. Which is obviously now a lot more than 40 million people. More like 55 million now infected.

But why would the virus suddenly stop at the level required for herd immunity anyway? It is not a sentient…
