Dear Barack,

Its so easy to throw out beautiful sounding reasons like self-determination, sovereignty and democracy for why Putin (the enemy of all these) has invaded Ukraine.

And elide the reality of NATO pushing further and further into the Russian sphere of influence in the last 30 years and destabilising the whole of Europe.

Russia cannot have a sphere of influence.

But American can have a sphere of influence that encompasses the whole bloody world. And therein lies the real problem. Those beautiful ideals are just as empty where America is involved. It only suits you to throw them around at Putin (or China) when they act.

Just ask the people of Iraq Mr President?!

P.S. Where was 'sovereignty' when you ordered the drone strikes on people on your kill list?
