Absolutely loved the film. Superb review. The point about the missing von Erich is a very good point Reece.

The Iron Claw was not just that signature move/hold but the father's iron control of the family which includes the mum who is not allowed to express her emotions even in her talented ability as an artist. And this 'iron claw' is the very curse itself. It is the oppression within the family expressed in a deflected and 'understandable' way.

I thought like you it should have been nominated for awards across the film spectrum. I was going to do a review as well as I really liked it that much and wanted everyone to know—thx mate.
