But as far as I am aware and you will no doubt correct me as you seem to be a social historian the privatized Water companies did not yet exist in Elizabethan England?

The only sewerage dumping was into the mud pathways of the town. How much sewerage actually got into the waterways of England was limited due to there being no sewers as there were no streets. They could not be dumped directly into the water. We've had to wait for 400 years for that. Thanks to Johnson.
